The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. And No, I don’t mean Christmas.

Halloween is my favorite time of year 🙂 I don’t particularly like Christ Mass (what I like to call it) because it gets expensive. I’m someone who doesn’t have a whole lot of money, and people expect gifts. I hate that it’s become this commercialism instead of it being about family. One year, all I could afford was baking everyone cookies. I got lip for that from a couple of people because they weren’t “actual” gifts, and I was called “cheap” and “selfish” for not saving up enough money. I find myself stressing out more about Christ Mass than looking forward to it.

But Halloween? Oh man, Halloween is my favorite of all time! No gifts needed. Just good times with your friends and family as you dress up. The same goes for Thanksgiving. I like Thanksgiving too because all the food hahaha! I go all out for Halloween every year. Last year, I bought a jūnihitoe, which is a kimono but it has several layers. The jūnihitoe was an exact replica of an ancient Japanese empresses’s wedding dress. I ordered it 2 months in advanced, and they handmade it for me and shipped it to me all the way from Japan. It got here the day before Halloween 😛

I always felt such a strong vibe with Japan because I’ve had several lifetimes in Japan. I was an empress in ancient Japan twice, and I was also a samurai. Then I was a man that lived in Japan who ran a village until I eventually died of old age. I was a monk as well in Japan. Out of all my lives on Earth, which isn’t many, most of them have been spent in Japan. My soul cries out to go back every day. I have been to Japan in this lifetime, and I cried when I had to go back home. Ever since then, I’ve always wanted to go back.

The year before that I was Pocahontas. I was really into my Native American roots at that time, which I have been in native tribes in previous lifetimes as well. The year before that, I was Bonnie Parker and Josh was Clyde Barrow. I was obsessed with Bonnie Parker at the time because I felt a strong connection. Turns out I was an American gangster in the 1920s-30s.

Every year on Halloween, I dress up like someone from a previous lifetime or something that represents that time/era I lived in. I CAN’T WAIT for this year! I’m dressing up as Morticia Addams, and my Joshie-poo is going as Gomez Addams. I ordered a black mermaid styled wedding dress for the occasion because they didn’t have very high quality Morticia costumes that were modest enough. I don’t like showing off cleavage, so I found something similar but doesn’t show a lot of skin. I’ll be sharing photos soon!

What is your favorite holiday? And how do you celebrate?
